Deck Building in Burbank
Danny Deck Construction has been building and repairing decks across Los Angeles since 1995, and Burbank is one of the areas we work in most.
We build custom hardwood decks in Ipe, Mangaris and Kayu Batu, composite and PVC decks in Trex, TimberTech and AZEK, and the structural work underneath them: new footings, engineered post-and-beam framing, and waterproofed assemblies over living space. We fabricate our own stainless cable railing and custom steel railing, so the railing fits the deck rather than the other way around.
Alongside decks we build pergolas and patio covers, wood fences and gates, deck stairs and landings, and we repair and refinish existing decks that are worth saving rather than replacing. If a repair will do the job we will say so.

Burbank
Building decks in Burbank
Burbank runs its own building department, which is worth knowing up front because the submittal process differs from the City of Los Angeles next door.
Most of the city is flat and the work reflects that. Ground-level composite and PVC decks, pergolas and patio covers, fences and gates, outdoor kitchens. Lots in the older neighborhoods tend to be modest, so the good decisions here are usually about making a smaller space work. Built-in seating, integrated planters, a patio cover that makes the deck usable in August.
The northern edge of Burbank climbs toward the Verdugo Mountains, and those hillside properties are a different build. Engineered framing, footings sized for the slope, and in places, fire hazard severity zone requirements. Where those apply, the deck surface has to carry a California State Fire Marshal listing under the Wildland-Urban Interface Code, which replaced Chapter 7A in January 2026.
Heat is a real consideration in a Burbank summer. Lighter PVC and hardwood run cooler underfoot than dark composite, and shade structures earn their keep.
We do a fair amount of deck waterproofing here as well. Second-story decks and landings where the assembly underneath has failed.
