Deck Building in Palos Verdes Estates
Danny Deck Construction has been building and repairing decks across Los Angeles since 1995, and Palos Verdes Estates is one of the areas we work in most.
We build custom hardwood decks in Ipe, Mangaris and Kayu Batu, composite and PVC decks in Trex, TimberTech and AZEK, and the structural work underneath them: new footings, engineered post-and-beam framing, and waterproofed assemblies over living space. We fabricate our own stainless cable railing and custom steel railing, so the railing fits the deck rather than the other way around.
Alongside decks we build pergolas and patio covers, wood fences and gates, deck stairs and landings, and we repair and refinish existing decks that are worth saving rather than replacing. If a repair will do the job we will say so.
We work directly for homeowners and as a deck subcontractor for general contractors and architects. If you are managing a rebuild and need someone who can read a fire-zone material schedule, that is us.

Building decks in Palos Verdes Estates
Palos Verdes Estates is bluff and hillside building with an ocean on one side and some of the strictest architectural oversight in the county on the other.
The city's Art Jury reviews exterior work, which makes a deck here a design submission before it's a construction project. That isn't a complaint. It's why the place looks the way it does. But it does mean the schedule has to account for review, and that material and railing choices get made earlier than usual.
The terrain is the other half. These are steep lots with ocean exposure, so decks are typically elevated with engineered framing and real footings, and the underside enclosed where required. Ground movement is a known issue in parts of the peninsula, and worth understanding before you design a structure that spans it.
Salt air is constant. Stainless hardware throughout, and materials that tolerate it. Ipe, Kayu Batu, PVC. Cable railing is common here for the view, and we fabricate our own so it fits the deck rather than approximating it.
The city sits inside the Coastal Zone, so coastal review may apply alongside the city permit.
