Deck Building in Woodland Hills

Danny Deck Construction has been building and repairing decks across Los Angeles since 1995, and Woodland Hills is one of the areas we work in most.

We build custom hardwood decks in Ipe, Mangaris and Kayu Batu, composite and PVC decks in Trex, TimberTech and AZEK, and the structural work underneath them: new footings, engineered post-and-beam framing, and waterproofed assemblies over living space. We fabricate our own stainless cable railing and custom steel railing, so the railing fits the deck rather than the other way around.

Alongside decks we build pergolas and patio covers, wood fences and gates, deck stairs and landings, and we repair and refinish existing decks that are worth saving rather than replacing. If a repair will do the job we will say so.

Woodland Hills

Building decks in Woodland Hills

Woodland Hills is one of the areas we work in most, and it covers a wide range. Flat lots in the north, hillside properties climbing toward the Santa Monica Mountains in the south, and a good deal of both new build and replacement work.

Heat is the defining material question here. Woodland Hills runs hotter than almost anywhere else in our service area, and decking surface temperature is a comfort issue rather than a technicality. Dark composite gets uncomfortable underfoot in July. Lighter PVC and hardwood run noticeably cooler, and we'll say so before somebody picks a color off a sample board indoors.

The southern hillside band falls partly within fire hazard severity zones. Where it does, the walking surface has to carry a California State Fire Marshal listing under the Wildland-Urban Interface Code that replaced Chapter 7A in January 2026. The listing is what a plan checker looks for, not a flame-spread number out of a brochure.

We do a lot of demolition-and-rebuild work here on decks that have reached the end of their life, along with pergolas, patio covers and railing. Recent work has included full Trex rebuilds with stair systems and railing on Don Pio and Salamanca.
