Deck Building in Westlake Village

Danny Deck Construction has been building and repairing decks across Los Angeles since 1995, and Westlake Village is one of the areas we work in most.

We build custom hardwood decks in Ipe, Mangaris and Kayu Batu, composite and PVC decks in Trex, TimberTech and AZEK, and the structural work underneath them: new footings, engineered post-and-beam framing, and waterproofed assemblies over living space. We fabricate our own stainless cable railing and custom steel railing, so the railing fits the deck rather than the other way around.

Alongside decks we build pergolas and patio covers, wood fences and gates, deck stairs and landings, and we repair and refinish existing decks that are worth saving rather than replacing. If a repair will do the job we will say so.

Westlake Village

Building decks in Westlake Village

Westlake Village sits at the western edge of our range, and it's a mix. Lake-adjacent properties, hillside lots, and a good deal of HOA-governed development. Much of the surrounding area falls in a Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zone, and Woolsey came through the corridor in 2018.

Since January 2026, California's wildfire-zone construction requirements sit in the California Wildland-Urban Interface Code, which replaced Chapter 7A and Section R337. What it regulates is the walking surface, meaning boards and stair treads, and the requirement is a California State Fire Marshal listing rather than a flame-spread number from a manufacturer.

The listed products we work with are TimberTech AZEK Vintage and Landmark, both Class A with no conditions, Kayu Batu on the same footing, and Ipe through suppliers holding an actual listing. Trex Transcend, Select, Transcend Lineage and Refuge are listed with a wall-covering condition. Trex Enhance isn't listed at all.

The city has its own building department. A lot of the work here is repair and reinforcement rather than new build. We recently did under-deck reinforcement and balcony waterproofing on a View Pointe Drive property, which is fairly typical of what these hillside lots need after twenty-odd years.
