Deck Building in North Hollywood
Danny Deck Construction has been building and repairing decks across Los Angeles since 1995, and North Hollywood is one of the areas we work in most.
We build custom hardwood decks in Ipe, Mangaris and Kayu Batu, composite and PVC decks in Trex, TimberTech and AZEK, and the structural work underneath them: new footings, engineered post-and-beam framing, and waterproofed assemblies over living space. We fabricate our own stainless cable railing and custom steel railing, so the railing fits the deck rather than the other way around.
Alongside decks we build pergolas and patio covers, wood fences and gates, deck stairs and landings, and we repair and refinish existing decks that are worth saving rather than replacing. If a repair will do the job we will say so.

North Hollywood
Building decks in North Hollywood
North Hollywood is flat, which makes it one of the more straightforward places we build. It also moves the interesting decisions from structure to design and material.
Most of the work here is ground-level. Composite and PVC decks, pergolas and patio covers, outdoor kitchens, fencing and gates. Lot sizes vary a lot between the older neighborhoods and the newer development around the NoHo Arts District, and smaller lots tend to push toward built-in seating and integrated planters rather than open deck area.
Valley heat is the material constraint. Surface temperature matters in a North Hollywood summer, and lighter PVC and hardwood are meaningfully cooler underfoot than dark composite. A pergola or patio cover over part of a deck is often worth more here than extra square footage.
There's a steady amount of refinishing work too. Older redwood and hardwood decks that have gone gray and are worth stripping, sanding and re-oiling rather than replacing.
