Deck Building in Encino
Danny Deck Construction has been building and repairing decks across Los Angeles since 1995, and Encino is one of the areas we work in most.
We build custom hardwood decks in Ipe, Mangaris and Kayu Batu, composite and PVC decks in Trex, TimberTech and AZEK, and the structural work underneath them: new footings, engineered post-and-beam framing, and waterproofed assemblies over living space. We fabricate our own stainless cable railing and custom steel railing, so the railing fits the deck rather than the other way around.
Alongside decks we build pergolas and patio covers, wood fences and gates, deck stairs and landings, and we repair and refinish existing decks that are worth saving rather than replacing. If a repair will do the job we will say so.
We work directly for homeowners and as a deck subcontractor for general contractors and architects. If you are managing a rebuild and need someone who can read a fire-zone material schedule, that is us.

Encino
Building decks in Encino
Encino gives you room to work. Wide streets, deep lots, mature trees, and a good number of properties where the backyard can carry a substantial deck, a pergola and a proper outdoor kitchen without feeling crowded.
The southern edge of Encino climbs toward Mulholland and the Santa Monica Mountains, and those hillside lots are a different job from the flats. Elevated decks with engineered framing and footings rather than a slab-level build, and where the ground drops away, a waterproofed assembly under anything sitting over living space. Parts of that band fall within fire hazard severity zones, where the walking surface has to carry a California State Fire Marshal listing under the Wildland-Urban Interface Code that replaced Chapter 7A in January 2026.
Down on the flats it's mostly about material and heat. Encino summers get hot enough that decking surface temperature is a real comfort question. Lighter PVC and hardwood run cooler underfoot than dark composite.
We do a lot of composite and PVC work here, and a fair amount of refinishing on older hardwood decks that are worth restoring rather than replacing.
